Quality assurance guidelines for colonoscopy
Published February 2011
The purpose of this guidance is to define key areas of quality assurance in the delivery of colonoscopy and to embed them in routine practice. The document seeks to provide the rationale for the described quality standards (both qualitative and quantitative) and to set in place a framework for the collection of quality assurance data and for monitoring performance against the standards.
The guidance has been produced under the auspices of the NHS Bowel Cancer Screening Programme's endoscopy quality assurance group.
