Development of an algorithm

Research funded by the NHS Cancer Screening Programmes has led to the development of an algorithm which can be used to predict breast screening attendance.

Using a knowledge management approach, researchers from the Biomedical Computing Research Group (BIOCORE) , Coventry University, suggest that when the algorithm is deployed, it could lead to a fall in breast cancer mortality. Their research was the first of its kind and was featured in several international journals. It also received a notable mention in President Barack Obama’s 100 Day Blog in the Wall Street Journal.
