Out Of Hours Study (OOHS)

Out Of Hours Study (OOHS) website

The Out of Hours Study aims to establish whether inviting women to breast screening appointments in the evening or weekend will improve turn-out to the screening programme.

Women in Manchester and Bristol who are due for routine breast screening will be randomised depending on their month of birth to have one of these:

  • a normal working hours appointment
  • an evening appointment
  • a weekend appointment
  • a normal appointment with the option to change to weekend or evening

Attendance at these appointments will be compared to see whether changing the current schedule will be beneficial and improve cancer detection rates.
