The purpose of this workshop was to describe the information technology requirements for colposcopy and to develop detailed definitions of the requirements. The workshop defined the requirements and specifications of the computing system in such a way as to allow new centres to develop IT systems and existing centres to be improved and extended. The workshop also tried to elucidate the steps that would be needed, and to discriminate between what might be achieved with current resources and what would require substantially more resources.
